happy {day 100}, little blog! and my FIRST EVER GIVEAWAY!

my little blog is 100 days old! Holy cow!!
To celebrate, we’re going to have a little contest!
Okay, here’s the back story: the last few times that I had surgery I had a friend that would “kidnap” me towards the end of my recovery and take me out to help combat the stir craziness that overwhelms me by day 8 (or sometimes 2) of recovery. We usually went to a movie but now that I work at a theater, that seems a little bit less appealing. So I need your help!
You folks get to help pick what my sweet hubs will take me to do when I need to get out the house! Keep in mind, I will have just had surgery on my chest, so keep it calm (and pg…), folks.
I will let sweet hubs pick the winner, and then I will send that person 3 of my favorite recovery comforts….my fave aromatherapy scent from bath and body works, a starbucks gift card, and some delicious chocolate (a recovery essential for every ailment)!
The contest will run through noon on Friday, November 23. The winner will be announced by noon Saturday.
So, friends, get creative! I need a jailbreak date! 🙂

  1. I vote for mani/pedi and some good relaxation time for you. I know Geneva is a bit of a drive but luxury nails has some sweet deals right now for no chip mani/pedis. So get prettied up!!

  2. I think you should recreate your favorite date you’ve had together (as well as you possibly can…) Love you!! And even though I never usually comment, I always read your blog. And I’m not just commenting to win a prize, I just thought it would be a fun thing 🙂

  3. I think he should take you out to EggHaven for your favorite foods! (although I guess the Bacon Waffle is out if you are still going GF 😦 )
Then if you still have any energy left you could go to Blumen Gardens to check out all of their Christmas decorations!

  4. You husband should take you to out to a beautiful spot where you can see the sky and not hear the cars from any freeway. Bring some blankets, your favorite foods and/or drinks, some candles, and enjoy the brillance of a night time sky! Best of Luck on your recovery!!! 🙂

  6. Find a hot chocolate recipe online to make together. There are some really good ones on allrecipe. Pick some good roadtrip snacks. Then, find some itunes Christmas music, and go for a ride to look at Christmas lights. Search online for where the cool neighborhoods are. Elburn has a house where the Christmas lights “dance” to the music…the line is usually pretty long to drive up to it, which is where the snacks come in handy. Or just drive around looking at the lights in the neighborhoods around you.

OR, go to Walmart/Target or wherever…pick a boardgame out, and drink the hot chocolate and eat the snacks you made while you play the game.

  7. Depending on Sabrina’s energy level, you have a few options. We all know how much she loves old books, so take her to a book store. You can either hit up Barnes and Noble and possibly an antique store to see what cool vintage things you can find….or take a trip to Classic Books. If there is time and energy, also hit up Starbucks of course! 🙂

  8. great ideas so far — keep them coming!! thanks for getting creative and for the good wishes for my recovery. 🙂

  9. You should go to a community play or show if possible.
