little things {day 295}

tonight I am grateful for:
the dream job. I cannot believe that I get to arrange flowers. for a job. even when things are not coming together as easily as I’d like, I know this job is a blessing.

for dinner and friends and ice cream and signs that make us laugh and wonder.

for a hubby and puppy who always greet me at the door when I get home,
and for ceramics that are in one piece and actually look kind of cool. 🙂

also for falling asleep to the sound of rain and a cool breeze.

what are you grateful for today, brave friends?

sweet words {day 293}

today I am grateful for an update on Abdiel (who is doing well in school and is healthy) and for his precious prayer for his mom, who has to work in Costa Rica to provide for he and his grandma in Nicaragua. I am honored to pray with Abdiel for his mama. Will you join us?

Memorial Day {day 292} (late)

I am grateful for all those (including my Great Grandpa) who paid the ultimate price fighting to protect our country and our freedoms.
I am also grateful that I had the amazing opportunity to visit my Great Grandfather’s grave in the Netherlands during my trip to Paris a few years back. While I was there, looking upon thousands of graves, I couldn’t help but think how different things may have been if these men had made it home. What would have changed if my grandpa had grown up with a dad? What would have changed if all these men had been able to go home to their families, pursue other careers, continue to change the world? So many (10,000 buried at this cemetery) lives given to protect our freedoms, our land, our lives.
War is controversial, some more than others, but I will forever be grateful for the brave men and women who give everything to protect our country and our rights. Thank you, Great-Grandpa, for being so brave.

birthday girl {day 290}

today I am grateful for this girl, who also happens to be 30 today! I’m thankful for her friendship, her heart, and for her support through the best and the hardest days of my life. I don’t know what I would do without her. Happy birthday, Jen, I’m so glad you were born!!

busy! {days 288 (very late) and 289}

I love this quite from Mumford. the next line is “make you more like the man you were meant to be.” I am grateful for a husband who loves me so well that I think I am more and more like the person I was meant to be. I couldn’t do it without his encouragement and support. blessed.

Today was a busy and long day of work, but I am grateful for a job I love and that I got to spend several hours today celebrating love and marriage with an awesome couple. can you say dream job??

what is your dream job, friend?
