celebrate {day 282} (late)

today was my first day on the job as a floral designer. it was fun and relaxing, and I am surrounded all day by beautiful things. it’s going to be wonderful.

then I spent the night celebrating thirty with some of my favorite people in the world. we had dinner and then went to an improv show. I don’t remember the last time I laughed so much and so hard. I’m so grateful to have been celebrated so well. As I looked around that table last night, I couldn’t help but be overwhelmed with gratitude for the people I love who I’ve met in all different stages of life who support me, love me, pray for and with me, and laugh with me. I am so blessed.

today the owner of the company I work for (and a few other folks from corporate) sent me a beautiful going away bouquet. I am thankful to work for people who care for me well, and who enabled me to care for my employees well. it is truly a blessing.

when I walked into my office this afternoon, it smelled so flowery and wonderful. later I realized that my “office” will smell like that everyday from now on. holy cow. I am a floral designer. I. am. blessed.

so much cuteness {day 264} (late)

my mom and dad are awesome and were willing to watch moj for us while we were out of town this weekend, even though they have 3 dogs of their own. so yesterday (because I fell asleep before writing this…oops), after drew’s procedure (not fun), we went to pick up our pup. next thing I know, moj and sweet hubs are both snoring away next to me on the couch. it was the sweetest thing.

what are YOU grateful for today?

breakfast {day 219} (late)

I’ve been fighting some kind of sickness the second half of this week, and fell asleep on the couch last night without posting. Sorry!

Yesterday I was grateful for my sweet hubby who made me breakfast (without me asking) while I got ready for work, and then fed me bites while I was straightening my hair because I didn’t have time to sit down and eat. My belly and my heart felt full.

also grateful for a sweet pup who knows when we don’t feel well and gives good snuggles.

as you can see, we had a crazy full day! after 13.1 hours of dancing (and a 4 am wake up–rough!), I am about the most tired I have ever been, but I feel happy and…full. not like with food (although that is also true), but my soul feels full. It is amazing and emotional to hear the stories of families who have faced what seemed to be insurmountable odds and come out on the other side with the child they feared they may lose. it’s amazing to be a part of a group and event that is doing so much good. I am so thankful that, 4 years ago when Jamie told me about the first dance marathon, I got up the guts to ask her if I could join them and to commit to raising $400 in a week, and to show up at a hotel in Chicago only (barely) knowing Jamie. It was, and continues to be, among the most rewarding things I get to do with my time. I am also, in case you can’t tell from all the pictures, so grateful for Harlow, and her health, and for a long but good day hanging out with her awesome family.
